Description

This ham and cheese breakfast casserole with tater tots is a hearty, easy-to-make dish, perfect for brunch or family breakfast. It’s quick, filling, and flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the frozen tater tots evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheese over the tater tots.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the ham, cheese, and tater tots.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown. The center should feel firm when lightly pressed.
  7. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition.
  • If you prefer a crispier top, you can broil the casserole for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
  • This casserole can be assembled the night before and stored in the fridge. Just bake it in the morning.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the ham and add extra veggies or plant-based protein.
